The total amount of traffic from 30 RANDOM classified ads on inetgiant.com, and a paid random ad, netted less then 15 unique visitors to RageHits.com

If you have not noticed it yet, RageHits.com went through yet another redesign. This is the 9th redesign as a matter of fact. Why so many, in such a short period of time?

Because nothing is ever good enough. We always found every design to be seriously lacking in something, or everything. On one hand you can be stubborn and set in your ways, and try to refuse to participate in the newest internet trend, on the other, you have to worry about making sure that everyone can see your website, and use its various services, while using whatever broweser they currently favor.

If you can remember back in the day, when the battle was between Internet Explorer, and Netscape, then you will remember the painstaking effort needed to make sure your code was up to par, to such an extent that it looked flawless in both browsers.

For years during this bitter conflict, Larry personally refused to code to appease everyone. Instead he focused 100% on Internet Explorer users. That was back in IE 3x days.

Now..with well over 50 popular browsers and their various versions floating around. The game went from a bitter one on one battle, to an entire melee of browser gladiators all fighting for dominance.

One hand, you have a software empire who dominates with its overflowing coffers, and another who promises to liberate the masses with its free software, and its immense config. options.

Even now, Larry has always remarked how much he hated Firefox, and still supported the M$ empire.

But something has changed, as Larry’s views have wavered with the release of the new Firefox 3.

With that said, RageHits.com supports just about every browser floating around on the internet these days, and the design will most likely stay the way it is, for the sake of simplicity, and so that we can focus all of our attention on the quality of service, and new features for our members.

We sure hope you enjoy the clean, fresh cut look of RageHits.com!

Was not expecting that title was you? After seeing RageHits.com at the top of Live.com for a certain keyword phrase that is very popular, I decided to give microsoft a look. I will admit, I had to tip-toe lightly, just in case something lunged out at me and I would have to make a quick escape.

I was never fond of msn\live search. My focus has been Google. Well since my little site made it to the top ten of this phrase, I got all giddy and excited. So I went to live.com and click on ” Webmasters Live” at the bottom of the..

page. First thing I notice, the google like enviroment that greeted me. However, They have quite a few neat little services and tools available. Publish your wares for free, and use their software to help promote it, and keep track of it. Submit a website to be crawled in a nano second, and a free local business listing. Outstanding. Im going to try and pump live.com up with so much ragehits.com information that it screams. Ill be posting again at some point to let you know how that worked out. Grin.

Are you keeping tabs on your efforts?

I will admit..at first, I was so excited about launching RageHits.com, that I was posting everywhere, placing banners, everywhere, running all over the place.

I did get results..I did get people to sign up with us..but where did they come from? What ad did they respond to?

Well, I got wise and really started using my very own service, alot heavier. I created a couple of url trackers…

One for Ragehits.com, and one for a splash page I made, chock full of generic graphic goodness, keywords, and meta tags.

I posted these ads all over the place. Seriously. Every one of my ads carried our text exchange, and banner exchange code. So members sites were going everywhere I was going.

From my own account, I would click on “Add Trackers” and I could see which ad, got how many impressions, and how many clicks. I knew which ad was better, as I posted two different ones in the same areas, and one got more results. ( The generic splash page does not do that well, but I am stubborn, and we all have our vices. Don’t talk, I know you do. Well my vice is stubbornness, and I like it.l ) So I keep posting that ad anyhow, and keep getting the lame results. But at least I know which ad was getting more attention!

I personally have been complaining about the neon and dark ‘goth’ like cosmetic appearance of ragehits.com, since I invoked that style. I have surfed many a websites, trying to find inspiration, and ideas for a new, clean layout. I found a few, and combined them.
I was very happy with the choice, but after modifications, Im not sure if Im happy now.. maybe I need to see a doctor? Regardless! RageHits.com is getting a facelift. The Outside view is nearly complete (No I do not believe in updating only when all is done. I like LIVE updates. The risk, the suspense! The drama!

The work is, I don’t know, 51% complete. There are some new pages I am adding, and I have alot of content to add. The iRH (Inside Ragehits) I plan on posting quite a bit of info, in a nice organized way, and “Partners” a bio of websites we have linked up with, and that we think would benefit you.

Change is a CONSTANT at Ragehits.com . We love to update, tweek, and chance on a constant daily basis. Well at least I personally do, and no one else has a say when they object, because it is my site.

(Power hungry laugh)

The members area is NOT yet complete, and it just might take a few days to get the look and function right. I rather mess with the code a bit, then do a super half assed job at the functionality of it all.

Besides, you get a pretty new login interface, and you get a familiar face when you work within your account.

What started as a simple experiment, is now transforming itself into OCD. I find that I can NOT stop visiting all of these free ad forums, and posting different style ads. I mix it up everytime I post, then I run to google and see which one I see first, and with what keywords. Its like a twisted game that I can not stop playing.

I have noticed a massive increase in the number of links out there bearing RageHits.com identity, and pushing up my attachment to the keywords that I chose. However getting all these posts to free ad forums to bear fruit seems to be a fleeting idea. No new members from ad forums.

So why do I keep posting Free Advertising ads on free ad forums? Well for one, I think its addiction to seeing what kind of results I can come up with. How can I add certain keywords, how can I change this call to action that might get people to click, etc etc.

Plus, don’t get me wrong. It gets us pushed up in google.

In reality, it is almost a waste of time, but it is not a waste of time..at the same time. 5 out of 10.

You need it, But you don’t.

I will keep posting on these free ad forums until I find some solution that entices people to view my wares. ( In this case, Ragehits.com free advertising )

And I will admit.. I feel as if I am a missionary, on a mission to all these free ad forums, trying to preach advertising and marketing mediums to the heathen masses that lurk the forums. Trying to convert them and show them the light. I have not yet been successful, but If I gave up, what kind of missionary would I be?

Aggressive Marketing. Everyday. Everychance. It is the only way.
